Latine & Caribbean Graduation & Awards Ceremony

During the Latine and Caribbean Graduation & Awards Ceremony, the Latine, Hispanic, and Caribbean community comes together to celebrate the contributions of graduating students. Students offer words of wisdom to fellow students and stoles are placed on students by loved ones to wear during the larger Dartmouth graduation ceremony. The event takes place the Saturday of Commencement weekend.

Lavender Gala

Lavender Gala is the closing event for Pride at Dartmouth and serves as a celebration and recognition of the contributions of current students to the Dartmouth LGBTQIA+ community. Graduating students are honored with lavender or rainbow tassels and have their accomplishments celebrated. The event takes place earlier in the spring term during Pride.

Lorna C. Hill Black Graduation

Formerly known as the Black Baccalaureate, The Lorna C Hill, '73 Graduation and Awards Celebration is a culminating recognition celebration for graduating seniors who identify as part of the Black community. During the Stole Ceremony, students are initiated into the Black Alumni of Dartmouth Association (BADA), and stoles are received by students to wear during the campus-wide official graduation ceremony. The event typically takes place the Friday of Senior Week/Graduation Weekend.

Pan Asian Community Graduating Student Awards and Luncheon

During the Pan Asian Community Graduating Student Awards and Luncheon, students and their families come together to recognize the contributions of graduates and celebrate the completion of their undergraduate or grduate degree. Graduating students receive a Pan Asian Community stole to wear during the Commencement ceremony on Sunday morning. The event takes place during Commencement weekend.

Graduation is an exciting and meaningful time for both students and families. OPAL communities hold events to celebrate this special time.
Lorna C. Hill Black Graduation is a celebration for students of the Black and Pan-African community. During the program there are community awards, speakers and graduates receive kente stoles.
